My name is Matt Hicks and I have been involved in the media (radio, print, video and online) and events management since 2007. My first foray into media was as Programme Director on Hamilton’s Backbeat 89 FM. I have been kept up my involvement in radio as an announcer with Mediaworks nationwide radio station Kiwi FM (from 2010 till late 2012) hosting a number of different shows. I pride myself as a dab hand at the written word having been nominated for ‘Humourist of the year’ at the 2011 Aotearoa Student Press Awards for my Nexus Magazine column (in my first year of writing). In 2013 I took out the award for Nexus Magazine 'Columnist of the year' at the Waikato University clubs awards.  In recent years I have run my own website (SouNZgood.co.nz) and helped various businesses and bands grown their social media followings. I have amassed 33,943 new likes, followers and subscribers in my time helping people grow their audiences. I have been involved in events working as an event co-ordinator for the The Escape music festival and The Steeds and Melodies event in Te Rapa . Since returning from my OE in late 2016 I have taken up a position with Hamilton video production company AF Productions as a producer/camera operator/editor.
