MCing
Need an MC? I can help
Need a young, vibrant MC with charisma, charm and a poor command of french pronunciation? I’m your man. Having spent years behind a microphone on Backbeat and Kiwi FM, acting in a few Kiwi feature films, becoming a Marriage Celebrant and MCing countless weddings (I never make the cut as a groomsmen) spinning a yarn is (as the french say) my ‘compétence’.
I’ve hosted the Hautapu rugby club fundraiser ‘Miss Hautapu’ (if you can run that event you can run anything) for the last couple of years as well as the Oceania Kenpo 5.0 championship 2017, Brian Wellington Hospice Waikato fundraiser, Leamington Rugby Club 7s, The Stables Vibes event as well as the St Peters Cambridge parents association fundraiser evening.
I'm a big lover of my hometown Cambridge and its been an honour to MC for the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce for the Illuminate Light and Sound show at Lake Karapiro, Balloons Over Waipa and the Chamber Commerce Long Lunch. I'm an active part of the Waikato Film Community and have MCed many film events including the Raglan Film Festival Awards and Q and As with the stars of TVNZ's 'The Gone' and NZ media personality Tom Sainsbury for Waikato Screen.
I keep my MCing teeth sharp with a weekly Quiz night hostings at Boundary Restaurant and Bar Tamahere (Mondays), Lucky Finns Hamilton (Tuesday) Clubhouse Cambridge (Wednesday) and Stallions Te Awamutu (Thursday) and also the regular monthly St Kilda Bistro Quiz night . I have been hosting Quizzes for various pubs/organisations (The Five Stags, Horse and Jockey, Pilot Brewery, Waikato University and Hora Hora Hall ) for the past 11 years now and it has taught me most importantly about the importance of crowd participation, clarity of instruction and keeping the flow of an event tight and timely. Overall the most important part of being a host is making people feel welcome and comfortable. If you need someone to host your event don't hesitate to get in touch.
