Funeral Celebrant
Saying goodbye to someone you love is never easy, and trying to work out how to sum up an entire life at the same time can feel pretty overwhelming.
As a funeral celebrant, my role is to work alongside you and your family to create a service that genuinely reflects the person you’re there to remember.
Everyone has a story, and I believe a good funeral should tell it properly. The big moments, the people they loved, the things that mattered to them, the quirks, the stories and the little details that made them who they were.
It doesn’t always have to be completely sombre either. Some lives are best remembered with plenty of laughter amongst the tears, and if humour was part of who your person was, there’s absolutely a place for that in their farewell.
I’ll meet with you and your family, listen to your stories and take the time to get to know the person you’ve lost. From there, I can write and lead a personal service, help with the structure and flow, and make sure you feel supported through the process.
With a background in writing, radio, public speaking and more than 10 years as a registered celebrant, I’m comfortable telling people’s stories and speaking in front of a room. But when it comes to funerals, the most important part of the job happens before I ever pick up the microphone: listening.
Whether you’re planning something traditional, relaxed and informal, a celebration of life, or something completely unique to the person you’re farewelling, I’m happy to work with you to make it feel right.
